Dr. Idris Olugbesan brings to the Executive Management of Regent Microfinance Bank several years of experience in the banking and financial services industry with cross-functional exposure to Financial Inclusion, , Financial planning and control, Operations, Sales and Marketing, Retail and Commercial Banking, Risk Management, Business Strategy and Analysis, Business Process Re-engineering, Corporate Communications, Organizational Alignment, Strategic Planning and Execution.

Just before his appointment with Regent Microfinance Bank, he was the Ag. Managing Director/CEO of Hedgeworth Microfinance Bank. Prior to that, he held the position of Head Business Development of the Bank responsible for SME business in Abuja.

Before joining Hedgeworth Microfinance Bank he worked variously as Business Manager at Fortis Microfinance Bank PLC and as a Branch Leader at Fidelity Bank PLC.

Dr. Idris has distinguished himself by recording consistent outstanding performance with a dogged commitment to driving sales, profit, efficiency and market share growth.

He holds a Ph.D, MSc and BSc in Political Economy. He is also a Chartered Microfinance Banker with the MCIB/CIBN Certification and is a member of the CIBN, and NPSA.

He has attended several management and leadership training programs at leading executive development institutions including the International Finance Corporation
